Carob Biscuits (Compliments of Kawi Wilde)

Ingredients:
220g Soft Butter
125g Caster Sugar
1 Capful Carob Syrup
300g Self Raising Flour
30g Raw Carob Powder

Preperation
Preheat oven to 170*C
Line 2 biscuit trays

Thermomix:
Put butter and sugar into bowl and mix 3 minutes, speed 5 until pale
Pour carob syrup 10 seconds, speed 5
Add flour and carob powder
Mix 30 seconds, speed 5
Continue to mix at soft speed for 2 minutes
Roll into small balls, place on prepared tray and slightly flatten
Bake for 5 minutes, then turn over down to 150*C and bake for a further 15-20 minutes until firm not hard. Transfer to cooling rack.

Conventional Method:
Cream butter, sugar and carob syrup until pale
Sift flour and carob powder
Add 1/3 of flour at a time to butter mixture until well combined
Roll into small balls, place on prepared tray and slightly flatten
Bake for 5 minutes, then turn over down to 150*C and bake for a further 15-20 minutes until firm not hard. Transfer to cooling rack.
Makes 30-40 biscuits
